Book Study: Is God Anti-Gay? by Sam Allberry
Homosexuality has taken near center stage in our day. Gay individuals are celebrated for being gay by their families, communities, and our culture at large. Biblical Christians need help thinking clearly about homosexuality. Sam Allberry is a single pastor in the UK who sees all the Scriptures as the word of God and who has experienced same sex attraction since high school. This makes his view on this topic particularly worth reading.
From the book’s back cover: “Christians, the church and the Bible seem to be out of step with modern attitudes towards homosexuality. Does the Bible prohibit gay marriage? How can we oppose people who are in love, and just expressing how they were made? Can God really be anti-gay? This short, readable book offers a positive and liberating way forward. It explains clearly and simply what we can say with certainty from the Bible about marriage, sexuality and same-sex attraction.”
This format of the class will be to read a section of the book at home and then come together to discuss it. We’ll cover this short 88-page book in 4 weeks. We’ll meet in room 119 at FBC.
