This Spring we are offering two Adult Sunday School classes beginning April 14th and running through May 19th. These will take place between services from 9:45am – 10:30am.
Room assignments will be decided after sign ups are complete and we know how many are interested in each. Please read the descriptions below and sign up either at the link below, through the church office, or at the Welcome Center at First Baptist Church.
Wealth and Possessions – taught by Greg Ackeret (last two weeks by Ben Leiby)
Jesus said, “You cannot serve God and money.” But it is impossible to live in the world without money and possessions. We cannot escape this reality. Living a godly life does not mean that money and possessions are to be untouchable, but how are we to live with them in a God-honoring way? This course will explore this question. We’ll look at God’s purpose for wealth, giving, spending, budgeting, debt, savings, and developing a heart that values money rightly.
There is no book for this class.
Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens – taught by Pastor Tim Becker
How often do parents of teens think, “What am I supposed to do now?” Parenting teens requires courage and endurance. But it also requires an interpretive guide. We need help understanding the minds and hearts of our teens and even (especially!) our own minds and hearts. Paul Tripp, the book’s author, is an able guide, pointing parents to God’s word to help us see and understand rightly. This class is for parents of teens, parents who will have teens someday, and grandparents who want to be of help with their teen grandchildren. Each week, class participants will read a portion of the book and come together to discuss it.
Required Class Reading: Age of Opportunity by Paul Tripp (we will read and discuss in class together). The deadline to sign up for the church to order you a book has passed, but you may secure the book on your own if you’d still like to participate.
