1 Peter 2 reminds us that as followers of Jesus, we have been called out of darkness and into His marvelous light – what a gift! But our calling doesn’t stop there. We’ve also been sent to proclaim the excellencies of the One who has called us! We’ve become God’s people to show others the same way. We’ve received mercy that we might show the mercy of God to others. Proclaiming the good news about God isn’t just for experienced teachers, leaders or those with big platforms. Nor is it always done in front of a microphone or on a stage. This proclamation is the will of God for every believer of Jesus Christ and actually, is not just an option, but a glorious privilege.
As women, we have a unique position to influence and impact our homes, neighborhoods, communities, workplaces and relationships as we fulfill this calling. This might make us feel excited, afraid or both. We may long to be a part of God’s kingdom purposes but are unsure of how. Or we might be eager to live as one who is sent, but in need of direction. 2 Corinthians 9:8 promises, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” God provides all His people need to accomplish all He asks.
Through God’s Word and wisdom we will spur one another on in how to fulfill the call to proclaim the excellencies of God in the contexts in which we live. This is a free event held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, February 29, 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM. Click HERE for seminar details and registration. For planning purposes, we ask that you please pre-register. However, even if you do not, you are still wanted and welcome to join us.
