This year’s Awana kicked off on September 6. We had over 150 clubbers come on kickoff night, as well as parents and friends. They got to meet new friends and leaders, learn about the handbooks, and enjoy some ice cream! On September 20, we had our first theme night – Long Line Night (see pictures). During Long Line Night, clubbers bring nonperishable food items for our food pantry, and then each team color (red, blue, green, and yellow) line them all up to see which team had the longest line! In the past several years, we’ve really been able to stock up the food pantry during this event, so I’m so thankful to all the kids and families who donated so much food!
Please continue to pray for the Awana ministry. A large number of the kids who come have no church background, and for many families, this is their only involvement at a church. Pray for the kids who come from homes where Jesus isn’t a part of the day to day – that the light of Christ would shine! And for the kids who are involved in churches, pray that the seeds planted in their hearts would produce much fruit!
