During the last months of the school year for Ignite (7-8th graders), we will be learning what God’s word says about walking out our faith in Jesus Christ. Teens who have made the decision to turn from their sin, repent of it, and follow Jesus have been called to a counter-cultural life. This decision will not be easy but will be so worth it!! Life is found in a relationship with Jesus.
Some of the topics we will be covering will be:
- spending time in God’s word
- how to worship
- prayer
- self-sacrifice
- waiting on God
- trusting God for our future
- how to comfort others
- taking off anger and putting on reconciliation
- using our words to build others up not for corrupt talk
We will be looking to God’s word for truth and advice. We will need Jesus for grace in the areas where we are weak. All of these things that God calls us to do are not in our nature as sinfulness, but through the gracious and merciful cross of Jesus Christ, we who have been born again have the spirit of God within us to help us and guide us as we learn and grow in our faith when we humbly depend on HIM. 2 Corinthians 9:8 – and God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 7th-8th graders: Join us on Wednesdays at the Cutting Edge Youth Center.
