The ministry of Moms & Munchkins exists to serve, encourage, and equip moms by pointing them to Christ. We gather together on the first Thursday of each month, making up a wide spectrum of lives, seasons of motherhood, and backgrounds, but under the unifying role of motherhood.
At our fall kick-off we indulged in a full-spread waffle bar and introduced women to our study this year entitled, Hidden in Christ: A Study on True Identity as well as our overall theme this year, On the Journey Together. To illustrate the reality of being on this journey of motherhood together, we asked women to anonymously write down one joy and one struggle they’ve had– they could be as specific or general as they wanted. Then they were asked them to pin these to the wall map seen in the photo. It was amazing to read so many common threads described in the things written, giving us a sense of solidarity with one another. We hang the map each month as a reminder, that though motherhood can sometimes feel isolating, we are not traveling it alone.
As a leadership team, we seek to create an environment in our meetings that fosters community to continue beyond our time together. We see God doing this as women engage, love one another and point each other to Christ in their everyday lives!
Continue to pray for us this year as we study God’s word and seek to find our true identity in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We are thrilled this year to now be able to post the audio recording of the lessons, as well as the study booklet for each month online. This allows any woman who may not be able to attend, for whatever reason, (work schedule, illness, season of life, etc) to be included.
