My name is Tim Becker and I’m the
pastor of discipleship here at First Baptist. My life goal is to bring
glory to the God who made me and to help others do the same. I seek to
do this by seeing and enjoying his glory each day and living in the
reality of that. Because of my sin, none of that happens merely by my
own striving. And so I am hungry for God and look to him to provide
everything I need for life and godliness. He does!
By God’s grace, I have been married to Renee since 1978 and consider
her my greatest earthly treasure. We have 5 children: Ryan (married to
Sara, parents of Noelle), Erin (living in Minnesota) and Anna, Grace,
and Joy. Until 2007, I worked as a software engineer in Rochester, NY.
At that time I began to pursue theological study and pastoral ministry
training at The Bethlehem Institute (now Bethlehem College and
Seminary) in Minneapolis. God’s kindness overflowed to our family
during our 2 years there. Then in the summer of 2009, God continued his
kindness to us by calling us here to First Baptist Church. Since then
we’ve been enjoying Medford and God’s people at FBC.
